The annual Festival Foods Turkey Trot brought thousands out this year… perhaps because there isn’t any snow on the ground yet! The temperature stayed around 41 degrees with the sun peeking through most of the day! Just beautiful!
Our old home is on a historic route and gets a lot of attention when it comes to events like the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot and Memorial Day Parade, to name a couple. It’s a beautiful site over the bridge that goes over a large park and that park is on the river! The best of all worlds! We get dog walkers, runners, bicycles, tricycles and even motorcyclist along our historic street! A great place to be, which is why we hand-picked this particular neighborhood.
Festival Foods says: “The Festival Foods Turkey Trot allows participants to partake in either a timed 5-mile run or an untimed 2-mile walk and is open to everyone of all ages and abilities. Don’t forget to bring your favorite cuddly companion for the 2-mile Dog Jog. This event is meant to be fun for the whole family, not just seasoned athletes; perfect for anyone who wants to kick off Thanksgiving Day with a bit of exercise and a lot of fun!”
Festival Foods also said that “Attendees enjoyed a fun-filled race with upbeat music, high-quality, long-sleeved shirts, free Festival Foods pumpkin pies and a single serve Cameron’s Coffee at the finish line!”
Our tiny doggie, Miss Dixie Belle Charron, supervised the even from her bench in Our Tiny Library. She doesn’t bark much, which is a great thing… and she tips her head from side to side looking right to left and making sure she doesn’t miss a thing. We think that she is more like a kitty than a doggie!
Thank you for letting us share our home, pets and holiday time with you!
